Thomas De Canniere, Arnaud Doerane, Matthew Elliott and Stuart Mitchell rode in the Mallorca 312km Challenge road race in Spain and are raising money for the Colorectal and Pelvic Reconstruction Service (CPRS) at the Royal Children's Hospital, Australia.
This service changed the life of Thomas' brave little Australian friend, my son, Edward, who was born with Hirschsprung Disease, a congenital bowel disease.
The CPRS is a patient specific surgical, nursing and allied health service that provides essential care to children with complex colorectal conditions, such as anorectal malformations, Hirschsprung disease and chronic constipation. It is the only one of its kind in Australia. The CPRS is recognised globally for its excellence in paediatric colorectal care and world leading research.
The Hospital is changing the CPRS. Surgery will continue, but families are lobbying the Australian Government, pursuing philanthropic avenues and fundraising to ensure these vulnerable children continue to receive the clinical nursing and psychological care they desperately need to survive and flourish.
Thank you for your support.
Well done guys - keep pushing for this cause!
